CARS By Constance was founded by mechanic and restoration specialist Constance Nunes. Constance has over 19 years of experience in the automotive industry. She is not only the shops CEO but lead mechanic, designer and builder as well. Starting at a young age in her father's garage and on the drag tracks of LACR where she quickly took an interest in the automotive world. Her career began modestly, working on hot rod and restoration builds in some of the top shops in southern California and working for dealerships, including BMW, Audi, Acura and Ford in the service department and as an aftermarket director. She has since opened the doors to her own shop and is well known in the industry as one of the top early mustang specialists. Currently, Constance stars as the lead mechanic on the Netflix original series, “Car Master: Rust to Riches,” where she has helped the team at Gotham Garage build unique specialty cars for 5 seasons with season 6 in production currently. Constance is partnered with top brands such as MagnaFlow, Mickey Thompson Tires, Classic Industries, and Saleen Automotive. She works directly with Fortune 500 companies such as Mattel -- more specifically with the Hot Wheels brand and has been part of many high profile car builds including several cars showcased at the prestigious SEMA show (where she has also showcased builds exclusively from CARS by Constance for the past three years) and brand partnered builds with companies like Rockstar Energy, including the Rockstar Energy X Cyberpunk “Quadra”. In addition, for the past thirteen years she has hosted, judged, and made celebrity appearances at many high-end auto shows/conventions such as Wekfest, Motorama, Bermuda Charge and SEMA Show. She also became the first female ever to be featured in an Edelbrock national commercial in 2019 and has raced in numerous high profile races including Targa Trophy and The Gumball 3000 Rally as a professional celebrity driver. Constance is known for her specialty in classic restorations, hot rods, and more specifically, classic Mustangs. “Babystang,” her numbers matching 1964.5 straight six Ford Mustang, has become quite the internet sensation garnering its own following and has even been featured with several online publications including Hot Cars and showcased at SEMA show. Constance and Babystang have been together for nineteen years and have inspired many young builders and female auto enthusiasts to follow their passions within the automotive industry. Her passion extends beyond just automotive to motorcycles and even off road builds and water motorsports. She is a driving force in supporting women in automotive to pursue their passions and actively strives to create more opportunities, awareness and brand diversity for fellow female automotive enthusiasts and workers within the industry. CARS By Constance was built through a true passion for automotive, as a shop dedicated not only to building dream cars for clients, but as a way to bring inspiration to other automotive enthusiasts through the pursuit of like-minded automotive goals.
